Sound description: The funked-out soul of Downtown James Brown debuted at Monterey Live in May 2006. Ever since that first performance, the James Brown tribute band has become a household name throughout the Peninsula. The group is led by Kim Edmundson, a former Los Angeles based drummer who has worked with big name players like Michael Jackson and George Harrison.
