The City of Monterey got what it wanted. The city of Sierra Vista, Arizona didn't. After dedicating $200,000 toward the effort to retain the Monterey-based Defense Language Institute (DLI), Monterey is not only celebrating the Base Realignment and Closure Commission's decision to keep DLI on the Peninsula, but is also adding up the bills and looking pensively to the next round of base closure in 1995.
