How many times have you read Street Talk and thought, "Geez! I could think of better questions than that!" We gave folks on the street the chance to tell us what they''d ask if they were us. Here''s what they said:
Brady Brown
Age: 27 Resides: Pacific Grove
Occupation: Navy
If you were doing Street Talk, what would you ask? What kind of pastimes people are into besides classical music and going to Carmel to see theater.
Why? I get the Coast Weekly every Thursday, and I keep hoping there''s going to be something in there that we can do that doesn''t cost $40 and require a black tie.
What kinds of stories should the Weekly do? Your stories are great as far as the water board and low-income housing. You should include sports events.
Jesse Madore
Age: 42 Resides: Homeless in Monterey
Occupation: Street musician
If you were doing Street Talk, what would you ask? What''s your favorite band and the first album you bought.
What''s your favorite band and the first album you bought? The Beatles, the Monkees'' first one.
What''s a story the Weekly should do? The inconsistency of police harassment. Also, get rid of the Monkey Man (near Fisherman''s Wharf).
Pam Rice
Age: 26 Resides: Seaside
Occupation: Mom
If you were doing Street Talk, what would you ask? I''d ask people about what they do for fun around here; do they keep up with their recycling, and why drivers are so rude to cyclists.
What stories should the Weekly do? I like the investigative journalism stuff, like land development and water issues. I''d really like to see more about what''s going on in the community: family programs, kids activities, hikes, nature walks.
