Brent Overby Studios Studio opening. Brent Overby specialize in vibrant “computer paintings” of ocean sunset scenes. A trained master of “trompe l’oeil,” apparently his work can fool observers into believing that they are looking at an actual beach as the sun slips into the water. Monterey Museum of Art California Paintings from the Baird Collection: A Benefit Auction. The public is invited to join museum supporters for a public auction consisting of approximately 70 paintings, including works by artists Julian Rix, John Marshall Gamble, Arthur Hill Gilbert, Seldon Gile, Mary DeNeale Morgan, Lillie May Nicholson, Maurice Braun, Ralph Holmes, and many others.
