Asked on Del Monte Avenue in Marina.

What college elective do you wish they offered?

Follow-up: If you could go to college all over again, what would you major in?

PAUL SCAVO | Math Teacher | Salinas

A: Two or three internships for one semester to get a feel for what it is like. Whatever the general interest, like law, for example, the student could take an internship with a judge, one with a lawyer, and one with a paralegal.

Add It Up: Mathematics. I would do exactly the same thing because I’m a very logically oriented person. It appeals to my problem solving nature. I like to solve problems.

ESA MORRISON | Student | Marina

A: I wish they offered whitewater rafting and kayaking. I would also want the Wilderness First Responder class at CSUMB because, if you take it anywhere else, it’s really expensive. I will be a wilderness leader for my career. It should be available since we have the recreational minor.

Go Wild: I’m happy with what I’m doing: environmental education with a minor in outdoor recreation and education. I think environmental education is really important and I have a passion for the environment. The easiest way to appreciate the environment is to be out having fun in it.

PETER TRUONG | Bartender | Marina

A: I’d like classes to learn more about stocks where you pretend you are buying and selling. I’d like to make money because I want to make dreams come true. It’s always good to learn more about our economy. It’s good to know where the country is at, where you’re at. It helps you get where you want to be.

Pha Sure: I would like to major in hospitality, to open my own restaurant, my own bar. I’m thinking of opening a fine-dining, authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Monterey.
