What is your craziest car story?

Asked at Carmel-By-The-Sea Concours on the Avenue

Follow-up: If you could have any appliance in your car, what would it be?

JANE LEATHEM | Retiree | Carmel Valley

A: I have two donkeys. I went inside my house to make a pie. When I got out they were gone. I finally found them and tied a rope around their necks from out of my car window. The rope got twisted around their hooves, though.

Car Cafe: A coffee machine to make lattes.

LARRY MILLER | Retiree | Salinas

A: Once I had four people in an Austin Healy Bugeye Sprite in a snow storm in Virginia.

Party Porsche: A margarita maker. If I was younger, I would have cocktail parties.

SUSANNE JOHNSON | Teacher | Los Angeles

A: I was driving a 45-foot motor home to Las Vegas when it died on us going 65mph. We had to call a flat back truck, which carried the motor home through the city. The top came so close to hitting the city lights.

Beauty Bug: A flat-iron for my frizzy hair.
