A: I was a dog bather. I would go to people’s homes and bathe and groom their dogs.

A: I made retainers in high school. My dad was an orthodontist, so he would get us to work for him doing odd jobs like making retainers and doing laundry. Making retainers was better than doing laundry.

A: When I was a single parent, we delivered phone directories. My boys would go along with me. Then later my husband and I delivered papers. We all got up at 4am, even the boys.
