Nearly 50 years ago, Howard Cowen hand-built the infamous, giant nutcracker that stands tall over Candy Cane Lane in Pacific Grove.

In the video below, Cowen gets help from his two sons, Ron and Ken, his grandson Kris and a neighbor to help erect the big soldier for the holiday season.
