Salinas Police Chief Louis Fetherolf today offered few new details about the ongoing investigation into the alleged murder of Ryann Bunnell Crow. Fetherolf would not discuss the evidence against her husband Jesse John Crow, who police arrested Tuesday for killing Ryann.
“Solid forensic evidence has been collected analyzed by expert criminalists at the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Forensic Services which supports our conclusion,” Fetherolf said, adding that an investigative packet has been submitted to the District Attorney for filing of charges against Jesse.
There could be other suspects involved in the crime, Fetherolf said. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is leading the search for Ryann’s body.
Defense attorney Tom Worthington, who is representing Jesse, said it’s unfair for people to draw conclusions about his client’s guilt before seeing the evidence. “My client has a constitutional right to be presumed to be innocent,” Worthington said. “We would hope that the public would respect that."
