In what strange places do you find fashion inspiration?

Asked at Carmel Plaza on Ocean Avenue.

Follow-up: What was your worst fashion moment?

JANA CHAN | Teacher | Hawaii

A: In architecture, because I’m into forms and color not so much prints. I like the classic and retro styles.

C’mon Dude: The ’80s. They are coming back, though, but this time the styles are a little bit more fun, but still not for me.

WALTER GEORISS | Painter/restaurateur | Carmel

A: The Good Will, because people from the area are well-traveled. I have also found really good tailored suits.

Can’t Dig It: The ’70s. Everything was big and puffy. I had a great white leather with shoulder pads.

KAYLA CHRISTENSON | Sales/student | Marina

A: Whatever sparks my interest. I find my fashions in magazines and really anything that is different, anything thatcatches my eye.

Getting Awkward: Middle school. I had braces, my hair was a mess, I had ponytails and my mom used to dress me.
