What scares you most about being lost in the wilderness?

Asked at Viva Espresso in Salinas.

Follow-up: What would you yell off the top of Big Sur’s tallest peak?

FERNANDO TOREZ | Owner/Barista | Salinas

A: Not being found, mostly. I’ve run into bears and stuff before – it’s no big deal. I’d be more afraid of dying of kidney failure after a while.

Rocky Moment: “I can do anything!”

JUAN AYON | Design Draftsman | Salinas

A: My lack of survivor skill knowledge. I’m sure there are a million ways to survive out there but I sure don’t know any of them.

Now What: Man, it’d be such a pain to get back down so I’d probably yell, “Get me off of this thing!”

JULEE JOHANSON | Massage Therapist | Prunedale

A: I would miss relationships and human interaction but I think I could be fine for three days or so. As long as I didn’t run into a mountain lion.

Victory Dance: Well, as long as no one was around, I’d probably take off my clothes and dance around.
