Stony Silence…The seemingly interminable evaluation of embattled Carmel City Administrator Rich Guillen, accused of sexual harassment, is on hold once again. In its fifth closed session on the matter Sept. 23, the City Council once again failed to make a decision on his tenure. [RU]
Flitting Forgiveness…P.G. butterfly protector Bob Pacelli reports his group has raised $6,000 for 43 boxed trees to fill gaps in the Monarch Grove Sanctuary, just in time for the start of overwintering season. In late August, Mayor Carmelita Garcia issued an apology for the city’s overzealous 2009 pruning. [KA]
Green Gonzales…A new biodiesel station, featuring clean fuel produced in town, sprung up in Gonzales Sept. 24, part of the ag town’s plan to become a clean tech hub. [RU]

Healthy News…Health insurance providers now have to allow the under 26 crowd stay on mom and dad’s plan. The new rule is due to a provision in the national health care reform bill that kicked in Sept. 23. [JJB]
Don’t Decide…Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is still law, thanks to the US Senate, which failed to repeal the provision Sept 21. The vote appears to be less a reflection of Senate sentiment, and more about partisan bickering, according to the New York Times. [RU]
Teen Misdemeanor…P.G.’s Chris Veloz pled “no contest” Sept. 28 to hosting the February party where minors drank alcohol—leading to a car accident in which one teen was paralyzed. [JJB]
