It’s been around since the Fort Ord days. Korean tourists flock here by the hundreds each month. It’s stocked with a karaoke machine and metal chopsticks. On the Peninsula, in other words, there’s no better Korean destination than this institution. They masterfully and humbly juggle spicy, sour, salty, sweet and savory flavors in colorful permutations of meat, seafood and prominent vegetable dishes, soups and vegetable rolls, box lunches and stews, accompanied by ever-present rice and the all-star team of flavorful banchan side dishes. The decor is plain and utilitarian, but the food sings.
