Monterey County is renowned for its jazz, and not just because of one festival. The place is thick with what Dave Brubeck called “young lions and old tigers.” Many of these lions pass through Cibo, which makes it the place to hear what’s fresh in local jazz. While the place has had a reputation for pulling in more of the pop crowd over the last few years, it looks like they’re truly beginning to earn their reputation as the best jazz club in Monterey County. Doesn’t hurt that the bartenders mix a mean martini and the place actually feels like jazz.
