Along with an ocean view particularly vibrant at sunset (providing the fog has been friendly), Kula’s recently added Sunset Dinner Menu has added more appeal to a spot dripping with it—not unlike the whole roasted pig dripping with pineapple juices that appears with special events. Served 4-6pm, Monday through Friday, the new sunset bargain offers eight mouthwatering entrees for $11.95, including a chicken FaFa served over steamed rice and lathered in a velvety coconut concoction of spinach, red onions, garlic and a touch of Chablis. Meanwhile, the Polynesian-themed joint continues to offer favorites from its regular menu like its seared ahi tuna over a grilled sushi rice medallion and topped with housemade mango-papaya salsa, native Hawaiian “nachos,” Nuuanu Pali top sirloin and all the pupus you can pile in your pie-hole.
