Follow-up: What’s our most important cultural import?
PERRY DOIG | Body Piercer | Stockton
A: Synchronized boy band dancing. It’s terrible. Boy bands made it OK to be considered a musician without talent.
Picture This: Art. It’s not the most appreciated but it’s the most important to know what a culture considers beautiful.
CHARLOTTE SARAGE | Secretary | Beaverton
A: Straight Edge Windmill. You’ll stand at a concert enjoying it and you get hit by a straight-edge kid acting like an idiot. Dumb.
Rock On: Music. It gives you better insight to different cultures. Hip-hop was imported.
JASON QUIJANO | Tattoo Artist | Chico
A: Getting “jiggy” with it. It was terrible. I don’t get it. It was a joke. A mistake.
DNA Strain: Educated scientists! I feel like the U.S. exports more culture than imports. We create the ideas people want to wear, to buy, to sell. We just don’t make it here.
