Oh Squid, sometimes your utter lack of understanding of politics makes my brain hurt. With about 12,000 absentees left to count from 5th district, to concede now would be like (using your baseball analogy) the SF Giants leaving the field and going home, on 2 runs down, with only 1 out in the 9th. Gees, if they did that, they wouldn't be the World Champions right now. Simply put, untill all the votes are counted, the election isn't over. Is it a big hurdle to overcome, yes, but mathematically impossible, no. Don't blame Del Piero one bit and if the shoe was on the other foot, Potter would doing the same thing.

No, I am not on Delpiero's staff, so stop with your potty mouth and your false accusations. I have learned the facts, you need to do the same.

What is missing from Mr. Potter's 460 report are all the expenses paid for by other groups that DON'T have to be reported. Examples? All you have to do is look at the side bar right here on the Weekly's website. See the ad for Potter? The one that is a picture of a park? Now look who paid for the ad....not Mr. Potter's campaign, but the SEIU. The SEIU also sent out multiple fliers for Mr. Potter's campaign...doesn't have to be reported because the union paid for it. Mr. Potter has had several fundraisers. Who's paid for that? Yep, more PACs and unions. Additionally there is at least $30,000 from 3 developers, 2 from out of town that is sitting on Mr. Potter's FPPC 700 Report. And this is from the guy who told the Monterey Herald that his business had "not done business in years"

Agree with Batcave and Ms. Flores. Go look at Mr. Potter's political reports that he has to file showing his donations and you will many of those "special interest developers" donating money to him. And this is the guy who says he is for the environment. I guess clear cutting old oak trees is now the environmentally friendly thing to do??

If Squid doth speaketh, then Potter doth protest too much. When is everyone going to wake up to Potter's M.O.? When the manure piles up too heavily on him, he likes to take it and throw it on to someone else to make himself look better. Who wants to do the horse track development, who was backed by the realtors and contruction unions, who is currently under investigation for his dealings with Collins, who flip flops on his votes when he knows there is a majority vote, just to make himself look good (think Whispering Oaks, Corral de Tierra and the Jacks Peak Zip Line). Mr. Potter there is a huge difference between a signature on the bottom of a political financial disclosure 24 years ago (which in political years is the fossil age) and the backroom political wheeling and dealings you have done within your tenure as supervisor.

I think it is a bit hypocritical that the Weekly discloses that "Jenny McAdams is the daughter and campaign manager of candidate Carmelita Garcia." in her comment about the endorsement for the District 5 Supervisorial race, but says nothing about Margaret Robbins being Dave Potter's appointee for several years to the Monterey County Housing Advisory Committee. Do you think that she is going to say anything nice about candidates who may usurp her own political agenda?
