Right now, I am coping with blisters. I am still practising because many years ago I went through this same thing. Until my fingers adjust, I am spending most of my tine picking scales, but still playing chords till I cant stand the pain. Anyway, sine I've signed for on-line guitar lessons, unless you have a good reason for me to quit them, I guess I have all I can handle for now.
