It's pupping season for harbor seals in Monterey Bay and their birthing grounds are a large draw for locals and tourists alike (look for the telltale clump of people pressed against the chainlink fence along the Recreation Trail near Hopkins Marine Station).
The seals' awkwardness is eclipsed only by their newborn's cuddly cuteness. Here's a look at the little guys along with some facts about these pudgy Monterey County locals.
