"Delicacy" - October 19, 20, 21, 2012

John O’Conor hand-delivers his country’s best kept secret, the music of Irish composer John Field, inventor of the piano nocturne and inspiration to a legion of pianist/composers like Chopin, Brahms and Liszt. O’Conor’s protégé, Heidi Hau, winner of the 1998 Carmel Music Society Young Musicians Competition, delivers an ebullient performance of Haydn’s Keyboard Concerto No. 11. Mozart’s Double Concerto is like listening to three classical orchestras at once, pure genius and inspiration. Each concerto is a gift, but all three are a delicacy.
