Songify Five Guys Burgers and Fries: Best Thing to Happen to Fast Food in History

When the Food Blog broke news that Five Guys Burgers and Fries (444-0170) was establishing an outpost in Salinas, a mention of the East Coast fresh-burger chain's cult-like following—not unlike In N Out's out west—was mandatory.

I went opening day and tried the famous fries, the messy burgers in aluminum foil and the impressive list of add-ons as part of a tour through the North Salinas franchises creating substantial buzz, for better or worse—including BJ's Pizzeria and Famous Dave's—for a piece called "Chain Reaction: Braving three on-fire Salinas franchise restaurants that opened in the last month and a half."

But now it's inspired something far more worthy of a cult.

First a plus-size food reviewer named Daym Drops—who scouts out things like KFC's fried-chicken-as-bun "Double Down" and Taco Bell's "Doritos Locos" taco—did one of his enthusiastic-goofy review in the front seat of his car.

Then The Gregory Brothers geniuses at Songify turned it into a song. I'm officially drinking the Dayum Kool Aid.
