Starting on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 7pm, Franklin Street Studios (600 E. Franklin St., Monterey next to The Duplication Connection), will open its doors to all upcoming performers wishing to record top-quality recordings for demos, YouTube, etc. This opportunity will reoccur on the last Monday of every month and be hosted by enthusiastic promoter, Kiki Wow. The cost: $30 for a CD and DVD of the performance.
The studio, equipped with ProTools 9 and Digital Performer, has been in existence since the late 1960s and was recently used by Beach Boy, Al Jardine.
"This is to get people who aren't used to a studio into a professional studio," says chief engineer, Richard Bryant."
These recordings will be raw, without overdub or post-production glitz.
"The better you are, the better it will sound," Bryant says.
You also have a chance to win a guitar, donated by Monterey Mattress (details to follow), at these Wednesday night sessions.
See you on YouTube.
