In "a quick little sting operation," the Salinas Police Department Narcotics/Vice Unit made an arrest Wednesday in the neighborhood near John Street. and Monterey Street in Salinas, according to Sergeant Matt Maldonado.

An undercover detective was able to negotiate a prostitution deal with 19-year-old Lamisha Nicole Lee of Fresno who was booked in the Monterey County Jail.

Maldonado says a larger scale sting operation is coming soon as per the department's once quarterly sting schedule. The department will likely focus on the same neighborhood. "We've been receiving complaints in that area," he says. In quarterly stings, the department usually makes ten to 15 arrests.
