Carmel Council to Discuss Disciplinary Action for City Administrator

Carmel city council has been divided over the actionable items from a closed session discussion in September regarding whether to take disciplinary action against City Administrator Rich Guillen. City council will meet today at 5pm for a closed session to discuss one agenda item, "City Administrator Discipline/Dismissal/Release."

Carmel paid former Human Resources Manager Jane Miller more than $600,000 in a settlement after she alleged Guillen harassed her through emails, and terminated her position after she did not respond to advances. Six months later, Guillen is still in office.

As reported by the Weekly last week, council members Jason Burnett and Ken Tamalge were defeated 3-2 in a motion for a closed session on the matter, but Mayor Sue McCloud subsequently called for tonight's meeting.

The next city council meeting scheduled for March 1.
