The American Red Cross Monterey Bay Area Chapter announced Monday that Chief Operating Officer Tim Duncan will become the chapter's new CEO. Duncan has nearly 20 years of history in the Red Cross, having worked as executive director for Merced and Mariposa Counties and as CEO of the Sonoma County Chapter.
Duncan relocated to Monterey County in 2009 to serve as interim CEO, then transitioned to COO after he oversaw the formation of the Monterey Bay Area Chapter, a merger between the Carmel and Monterey-San Benito Counties chapters, each originally founded about a century ago.
He'll manage staff and 300 regular volunteers who provide services to all of Monterey and San Benito Counties. He splits his time between the Carmel, Salinas and Hollister offices.
Prior to joining the American Red Cross, Duncan served as executive director of the Miami City Ballet, the Cincinnati/New Orleans City Ballet, and the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle and as General Manager of the San Francisco Ballet.
