Anna Caballero lost her November bid for state Senate, but it looks like she still has a job in Sacramento.
Governor Jerry Brown has appointed the former 28th District assemblywoman as the Secretary of the State and Consumer Services Agency.
Caballero is an attorney with experience directing a violence prevention nonprofit and counseling farm workers through California Rural Legal Assistance. She has also served as a Salinas councilwoman (1991-1998) and mayor (1998-2006).
If confirmed for the secretary post by the state Senate, Caballero will earn $175,000 per year.
