Boys & Girls Club Gets $20k Water-Conservation Upgrade

California American Water and its partners completed a $20,000 water-conservation retrofit at the Boys & Girls Club in Seaside, the company reported today.

Upgrades included new 1-gallon-per-flush toilets from Niagra Conservation, waterless urinals, low-flow sink aerators and an weather-based irrigation controller, with donated labor from A&R Plumbing and RB Construction.

The retrofit is expected to save more than a quarter-million gallons of water per year.

The water-efficient upgrade extends next door: Cal Am recently awarded a $60,000 landscape grant to conserve water at Cutino Park next to the Boys & Girls Club, as the Weekly reported in January.
