Proceed Popping Bottles With Caution

Martinelli's cider is a mainstay in many a holiday celebration, especially when the party includes underage guests and a non-alcoholic libation is a must.

But, you may want to check the date on any 250 mL bottle of the faux bubbly before you sky that cork.

The Martinelli's company is recalling all six-pack shrink-bundled 250 mL Gold Medal Sparkling Cider packages as some cases have contained defective seals that may break upon opening.

The bad bottles are marked with the following "best by" dates: 11 APR 2014, 12 APR 2014, 13 APR 2014 and 14 APR 2014.

The company is asking anyone who purchased the possibly defective bottles to return them for a replacement or credit.
