Monterey Jewelry Store Robbed

Police are searching for three people involved in a Monterey jewelry store robbery this morning, according to the Monterey Police Department.

Suzuki Jewelry Repair on Webster Street was robbed by two men with handguns at about 9:45am, police say.

The men, wearing black hoodies, black pants, and black shoes, were seen driving away in a metallic blue car with a spoiler, police say. One man wore a black ski mask, while the other wore a gray one. The men were described as about 5’8’’ to 5’9’’ with medium builds. A third suspect was seen driving the car.

The car, reportedly very clean and similar to an Acura, was last seen going south on Cass Street, police say.

The business owner got into a fight with the robbers, but was uninjured, police say. The robbers got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, and it's yet uncertain whether any jewelry was taken.

Police are asking anyway with information to call a confidential police tip line at 646-3840.
